Community Legal Services of Mid-florida
Location: Orlando, Florida
About: Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida (CLSMF) is a nonprofit law firm striving to remove barriers to justice by empowering vulnerable communities through legal advocacy. As the primary provider of free legal aid for low to moderate income residents in Central Florida, we help individuals obtain the basic necessities of life: food, shelter, health care, safety, and education.
CLSMF seeks a full-time, 10-week fellow to be part of the team responsible for ensuring our prototype AI system provides useful output of potential consumer protection issues. The fellow will be closely involved with convening a group of stakeholders to conduct a landscape assessment, working with partners, vendors, and stakeholders to understand how to classify different consumer protection issues, identifying criteria to be used in evaluating quality data in the output from the prototype, and evaluating the output from the prototype in iterative testing sessions.
The fellow will work with the project group of lead stakeholders to classify different consumer protection issues, help identify criteria to be used in the output from the prototype, and work with the prototype creation team to test those data points. Being involved during this period of project implementation will enable the fellow to learn more about consumer protection issues and how the legal IT community is utilizing technology to help vulnerable populations.
