Colorado Legal Services seeks a full-time, 10-week fellow to assist with the development and integration of a legal chatbot into the CLS website. The fellow will research viability of access to volunteer attorney if chatbot does not go "deep" enough or is not specific enough to the users information; gather information regarding potential next steps for chatbot users; help draft and test online form for users to file response to collections claims; help to solidify implementation and outreach plan.
The ATJ Tech Fellow will:
Gather historical data from successful related projects and communicate w/ those project leaders to share best practices w/ project mgmt and stakeholders
Plan and coordinate stakeholder meetings and communications
Work w/ staff to plan integration of the tool into the CLS website; plan and coordinate testing of initial iterations of chatbot;
Gather information regarding potential next steps for chatbot users; help draft and test online form for users to file response to collections claims; help to solidify implementation and outreach plan.
Ability to work one-on-one with a wide variety of users, ranging from low-income clients to experienced attorneys, who may have low or high technological literacy.
Being self-motivated and able to work independently.
Creativity and willingness to “think outside the box.”
Passion for using technology to improve access to justice for low-income people.
