The 2018 ATJ Tech Fellows Program application is open. Deadline: February 9, 2018 at 8:00pm EST - you may only apply to be a Fellow between the opening and closing dates. We do not accept applications during the dates that fall outside of the application cycle window. Who Should Apply?

We’re looking for entrepreneurial-minded law students who are passionate about social justice and want to spend the summer learning new ways to leverage technology in order to improve access legal services for low-income individuals and communities.

The fellowship positions are open to rising 2L & 3L law students from any ABA-accredited law school in the country, but preference will be given to applicants within the host organization's state. Please see the “Fellowship Positions" page for a detailed description of each position. A prior technology background is not necessary, as students will be equipped with the concepts and skills necessary to carry out their work. Law students who possess the following qualities are encouraged to apply:

  • Demonstrated or stated commitment to access to justice issues;
  • A commitment to academics and education, and involved in professional/extracurricular/volunteer activities;
  • First-rate analytical, communications, research, and writing skills; and
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently, and to work smartly and resourcefully in a fast-paced environment.

The ATJ Tech Fellows Program has a strong commitment to supporting the leadership of communities historically underrepresented in the legal profession. We strongly encourage diverse candidates with varied backgrounds, life experiences, and skill sets to apply. 

The Application Process

Online Application
Candidates must complete all required fields of the Online Application Portal. Candidates must also attach their personal statement questions in addition to their resume, official letter of academic good standing from a ABA-accredited law school. The contact list of two references should be included with your attached resume document. Please attach all files in PDF format.

Downloadable PDF Application
If you are downloading the application, candidates must email a completed application and directed personal statement questions in addition to their resume, official letter of academic good standing from a ABA-accredited law school, and a contact list of two references. The application must be sent in a single PDF file, titled "[First Name Last Name] Fellowship Application" with a cover page that lists the applicant’s first and last name, law school, preferred host organization, LinkedIn profile link, email, and phone number.
